Important Note: the following information is just a quick outline of a potential change in our system. Please excuse it's lack of details and format. This requires the support of many people and will be improved with that support.

1 Mission statement

To implement Real Interdependent (Comprehensive) Democracy, where citizens vote on issues as they choose, rather than vote for people to represent them (or what that MP’s party wants). Real Interedependent Democracy (RID) is a temporary Name (a vote will set it - if we get that far)

2 Outline

In today's connected society, we no longer need to vote for which party will tell us what to do; we have the ability to vote on the issues we choose. We can change the system so every person has the right to vote on as much or as little of the issues we are concerned about. RID will do just that. We seek to change the system and give people the power rather than vote for who is going to make decisions on our behalf (or in reality; their parties behalf). We seek to change the system so we, the people, can choose the laws, budgets and governance of our country.

How? Our endeavor is to promote the most popular public policies on our site as our agenda & therefore mandate. Upon gaining the balance of political power we will change political law, so that anyone may suggest changes to any aspect of government, we will then present the most common requests in popularity order for modeling by the public and then for public vote on the government website. In which case you will be voting on the laws and budgets rather than the people who will make those decisions for you (whether you like those decisions or not).

In doing this every person (who has the right to vote) will be their own MP. There will still be a need for people in government to manage each department (like front bench members) there will be no need for backbenchers. Those Department directors will be required to manage the processes you choose (you are their bosses, not the other way around). This will be more like the board of a company than parliament as it is today. Also unlike the current system where you vote them in for a set period. They will be like any employee, they will be hired upon their qualifications rather than their popularity (when a position is available applicants resumes will be posted online, so you may vote for the best person rather than the party they represent). Their position will then be considered permanent (like any full time employee) and like any employee they can be sacked at any time for mismanagement or corruption. If people are not happy with the results they are producing they can request a dismissal. If the reason for such a request is deemed sufficient (or requested by enough people) the government website will announce the proposal for dismissal to the public. The public then votes on their dismissal and if successful they will be dismissed and new applications for the role will be sought then presented in the same process.

The nation's voters will have the right to make as many decisions about the government as they choose as it will be run more like a company where you are the shareholders (with 1 share each, no person has more power than any other).

3 Policies & Processes, procedures - in power

Studies of current full democratic systems (in business, co-ops etc), will be made to assist in creating the best initial system.

Vote process

pre reg - Name To Register?

pre balance of power, any member may seek to run for any current seat - they will be vetted and the party will vote for who then runs in each seat. If needed there will be no requirement to actually live in that electorate.

post balance of power

1 voting for a board/management committee (governing body)

1.1 seeking applications

Applicants are presented based on experience not location or party membership.

Their resumes will be posted

A public vote will then decide the successful applicant

A new constitution will be made upon the vote of the best models suggested and high court legal consultation

Dissolution of parliament will then occur being replaced by the “board”

2 dismissal will occur upon legitimate suggestion and public vote and replacement will be made by the process above (liability here?)

3 Any policy, bill, process, law and budget suggestions from any voter will be made public on the website for full disclosure and given enough support modeling will be sought for vote. Upon the successful vote (with full disclosure) of a model. We will then seek a final vote of that model  for implementation (again with full disclosure).

So: If you want a change; you suggest it on the government site (it will appear on the site so anyone can see it and you know we are doing what we say) It will be categorised for simplicity and voters can then make 1 of 3 choices regarding it (agreed, disagreed or remodel) If there are then enough people showing interest in that proposal it will be upgraded to final model and vote status (any vote will also be disclosed so you know it has counted). If there are other similar initial suggestions they will then be listed in order of positive response. All issues will be categorised by departments. The most popular models will be presented for vote. Budgets will be presented in the same fashion. The process will be scheduled by urgency, simplicity and importance as assigned by the voters during the votes.

emergency votes advertised on TV radio etc 3.x Initial policies

4 Management

4.1 People (party structure, MP structure)

Pre parliamentary control - like the current system (1 person per electorate)

Post parliamentary control - new governing body (overseeing only - size etc) no electorates and therefore if the people choose their leaders from one area (because that may be where all the best applicants live) they may do so (unlike the current system, where they live is not relevant). If the public chooses, penalties can apply for mismanagement or corruption by government officials.

4.2 Systems

4.2.1 The board/committee will be flexible

(the number on the board will change as per public request - 1 member for each government department is suggested)

4.2.2 votes may carry different requirements for approval

this will be set by popularity (like anything else). For Example, voting for a “board” member may require only 50.1% for approval, where a government budget may require 55% or a law may require 60%. These figures again will be set by vote.

4.2.3 internet management

the site management will require full disclosure - all your opinion is available to the public

5 Legals - party reg etc

5.1 registration (cross ref: ch 10)

5.2 legal constitution and court obliged process(if required)

6 Schedules - gantt

As the expectation that this party may not be registered before any elections in 2022 and even in such a case; having enough people to run in enough electorates is certainly not expected, we are intending registration to happen in 2022 but not to run in any election until 2023. A schedule of action or gantt chart will be created as time permits when we have more interest and resources to do so.

7 Finances

7.1 Donations

100% of initial donations or membership fees will be dedicated to party registration and legal fees to implement it.

All following donations/fees will then be assigned to promotion, until they reach $100 000 per annum, at which point 70% will be assigned to promotion and 30% to running costs (website costs, wages etc). This is a temporal figure as like everything it will be dependent on consensus.

7.2 Membership

Membership fees will be $20p/a and dispersed as per donations. (this figure may change with consultation and by member vote.)

Members will have full voting rights as to the management and actions of the party(not the government)

Membership may be revoked at the discretion of RID by inclusive vote

8 Website - forms, categories, support…

8.1 party site until a final name for the party is chosen and a website registered the party will be represented at:  know.howtogetthere.org/democracy

8.2 mygov  - upon the implementation of the new system voting etc will be conducted at mygov.gov.au (with a new link to a new governmental page specifically for voting). If a more appropriate page or system is chosen then changes will be made to adhere to public will.

9 Marketing

Initial marketing will be via the promotion of social responsibility (we will ask people who support this idea to forward messages to create awareness).

9.1 Social media

9.1.1 Quora

Quora will be the first launch for our social presence due to it simplicity over it’s reach - this will be managed by a professional when funds are available

9.1.2 Facebook

Facebook will be the second launch as it is more difficult to manage and it’s reach is more gradual even though it has more potential reach. It also will be managed as finance permits.

9.1.3 Reddit

This is likely to be the third social media platform for similar reasons as above. Management again as above.

9.1.4 Instagram

This is likely to be the fourth social media launch. Again as per above.

9.1.5 other

We will seek to gain exposure through all potential social media and email marketing as time and finance permits.

9.2 Traditional Media

Media releases and paid advertising will be our prime goal as we attain the required resources for such.

10 Registration -  (cross ref: ch 5? - or move)

10.1 initial interest

10.2 Party Registration - as per current law 500 members required (by application). Those members will vote on the final name of the party before its registration.

10.2.1 member reg - $10? $20? $50(discountable)? Fee.

10.2.2 party deregistration

this party along with all parties will be deregistered according to the new constitution and law upon the approval of such and the implementation of an initial governing body
